Dear Pastor Erich I would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for your fantastic sermon “Scheidung und Wiederheirat” in the serie “Keine Verdammnis mehr”. This sermon was for me personally definitely one of the most valuable sermons I have ever heard. Since my divorce 9 years ago, often my experiences with and reactions from other Christians were negative concerning my right to ever remarry again in the future. Even though my heart’s desire was to marry sometime again, I decided I had just better accept this situation of staying alone for the rest of my life. A number of scriptures were used by these Christians to supposedly support their view on the impossibility for me to ever remarry. The content of your sermon was an answer to my years of prayers and searching. You presented the subject of divorce and remarriage very clearly and systematically in the light of the scriptures. And also what I really valued – you covered all those same scriptures and interpreted them; those same verses that others had used to condemn remarriage in my case! Now I understand what those verses are really referring to and I have a better understanding of them than ever before. You were so thorough in your sermon, that you answered all those questions that I ever had about divorce and marriage. After hearing your sermon, I had absolutely no more unanswered questions, and even more important, no more doubts, about my right to remarry sometime again. Also my understanding of und my trust in God’s all encompassing love for me was totally restored after this sermon again! You have been a blessing to me through your sermon – thank you for being a faithful servant of God, for seeking His thoughts, for hearing from Him as well as for your courage to relate the truth in light of the scriptures. Thank you for your message – that there is not only a life after divorce, but a good life after divorce!
